Defined- Terpenes

ter·pene

ˈtərpēn/

nounCHEMISTRY

plural noun: terpenes

any of a large group of volatile unsaturated hydrocarbons found in the essential oils of plants, especially conifers and citrus trees. They are based on a cyclic molecule having the formula C10H16. Terpenes are found commonly throughout the plant world and are often, as with marijuana, responsible for aroma. Terpenes act like serotonin receptors in the brain and increase dopamine activity- two of the primary reasons they are thought to enhance/alter the effects of marijuana on the system.

One of the advantages of CO2 processing is our ability to retain the full terpene profile from the original flower.
